Sindhudurg - where history meets natural beauty.

Cleanest beach in Maharastra :

Malvan Tarkarli is the #cleanestbeach in Maharastra. There are several towns and cities in Sindhudurg that make great bases for exploring the region. Malvan, Tarkarli, and Devgad are all popular options, offering a range of accommodations and easy access to nearby attractions.

 It is a #beach destination and remote place in southern Maharashtra. Few years ago, Tarkarli beach is declared as a Queen Beach of Konkan region. Monthly, Thousands of tourists are visiting this place to rejuvenate and enjoy thrill of water sports #activities.


Beautiful Waterfalls :

Sindhudurg has some of the prettiest waterfalls in Maharashtra, and you would love to visit them all. The most famous are the Napne waterfall in Sherpe Village, Vaibhawadi, and the Amboli Falls in the Sahayadri RangeNapane waterfall is located close to Talere or close to Vaibhavwadi. Route to waterfall is very narrow and less visited by tourists. Waterfall have water flow for the entire year. Is dived into 2 step waterfall. You can enter in water at step one which is nothing but head for step two fall. Better to avoid swimming in running water to avoid casualties or falling down from step two fall. Waterfall location has a small restaurant which serves some snacks. Explore the historic forts :

Sindhudurg is known for its historic forts, many of which date back to the Maratha Empire. Sindhudurg Fort, Vijaydurg Fort & Padmagad Fort are all worth a visit for their impressive architecture and rich history.

Excellent #seafort !! The Sindhudurg fort is a historical place located close to the Malvan Coast.  Sindhudurg island-fort was built by Shivaji Maharaj, the 17th-century ruler of Maratha Empire. The fort provides a #panoramic view of the Arabian sea. You can also see the tourist enjoying #snorkeling and #scuba diving which is conducted just near the fort. Along with the customary shrines of Hanuman, Jarimari and Goddess Bhavani, the fort is most famous for the temple dedicated to Shivaji. Apart from the temples, a few tanks and three sweet water wells are also present in the fort area.

Try the local cuisine:

Sindhudurg is famous for its delicious seafood, including fresh fish such as Surmai, Mandeli, Bombil, crab & prawns. Be sure to try the local cuisine at one of the many restaurants and street stalls in the region.The Indian Butterfish is a popular among the tourists of Malvan. It is widely known as Black Pomfret or Halwa. #foodie #seafood #malavanidish 

Visit the temples:

Sindhudurg is also home to several ancient temples, including the famous Rameshwar Temple in Devgad and the Kunkeshwar Temple in Kunkeshwar. Take a break from the beach to explore these beautiful and historic sites.

How to reach at Kunkeshwar ?

  • The nearest airport is Chipi, which is 62 KMs away.
  • The nearest convenient railway station is Kankavli, which is 46 KMs away.
  • The nearest major city is Devgad, which is 6KMs away.



How To Reach at Rameshwar ?

By Road: The temple is located near MSH 115. Devotees have to walk for about 15-20 minutes to reach the temple from the state highway. The only access to the temple is a small pathway through the forest land. The temple is 34 km away from Kankavli city.

By Air: The nearby airport is located at Dabolim Goa.

By Train: Kankavali (36 km) is the closest railway head.
